Canada’s PIPEDA requires organizations to implement policies and practices to give effect to the principles in Schedule 1 to PIPEDA, which includes training staff. Case law and guidelines published by the privacy commissioners are clear that training is required pursuant to accountability and security provisions in the legislation.
